Regular Meeting of the Shetek Area Water and Sewer Commission

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Salmon at 4:02 PM

Members Absent:  Dave Marks, Tim Alcorn, Jon Harback

Agenda:
Motion (12-09-14a)  Moved by Jamie Thomazin, seconded by Ted Haugen to approve the agenda as amended.  Motion carried unanimously.

Minutes:
Motion (12-09-14b)  Moved by Ted Haugen, seconded by Jamie Thomazin to approve the minutes.  Motion carried unanimously.  It was noted that the minutes from the special meeting on Dec. 2 will be included in January.

Treasurers Report:

Motion (12-09-14c)  Moved by Tom Gervais, seconded by Jamie Thomazin to approve the invoice of $422.63 to the city of Currie for Sept. services.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion (12-09-14d)  Moved by Jamie Thomazin, seconded by Ted Haugen to approve the invoice of $575.99 as corrected to the city of Currie for Oct services.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion (12-09-14e)  Moved by Tom Gervais, seconded by Ted Haugen to approve the invoice of $822.36 to Murray county for billing services.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion (12-09-14f)  Moved by Tom Gervais, seconded by Jamie Thomazin to approve the invoice of $7045 to Brown Excavating for Nov. services.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion (12-09-14g)  Moved by Tom Gervais, seconded by Ted Haugen to approve the invoice of $15661.50 to Rupp Construction for pay request # 2 on lift station # 3. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion  (12-09-14h)  Moved by Ted Haugen, seconded by Jamie Thomazin to pay the invoice of $1398.60 to Bolton/ Mink for lift # 3 supervision.  Motion carried unanimously.

Delinquent payments total $4271.99.

Frisvold payment request on land transfer have been sent but not received.

Ledger balance sheet was received.

Engineers report:
Smell issue update on # 1 and 2 stations.  Extensions to move odor several hundred feet was discussed.  This seems to be working well on # 3.

Motion (12-09-14i)  Moved by ted Haugen, seconded by Jamie Thomazin to request a conditional use hearing/ permit from Murray Co. to be filed by Dave Brown for installing the pipe extensions on # 1 and 2. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion (12-09-14j)  Moved by Ted Haugen, seconded by Tom Gervais to spend up to $1000 for temporary pipe for lift station # 1 pending county approval.  Motion carried unanimously.

Independent audit—postponed

Members up for possible reappointment to commission:  Ted Haugen, Tom Gervais, Lars Johansson, Jon Harback.  Appointments to be made by the County commissioners at Jan 5 meeting.

Lars Johansson raised the condemnation piece approved by a simple majority some time ago. Action to follow.
