Commissioner's Meeting Minutes
 PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

MURRAY COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER – SLAYTON, MINNESOTA

SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 – 10:08 A.M.

 

Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners met in special session with the following members present:  Commissioners William J. Sauer, Steve Johnson, Kevin Anderson, Gaylen Jensen and Alfred Gertsema.  Also present were Gary D. Spaeth, Auditor/Treasurer, and Robert Klingle, Administrative Assistant.

 

The Board met to continue the process of reviewing proposed budgets from the Department Heads and to conduct any other business that might come before the Board.

 

Karen Onken met with the Board and picked up discussion of Zoning fees from yesterday’s Board meeting.

 It was moved by William J. Sauer, seconded by Steve Johnson and passed to approve the County Fee Schedule as presented at the August 21, 2001 meeting with changes as follows: ISTS fee lowered from the proposed amount back to $10 for permits and $35 for inspection; and lowering the Conditional Use and Variance Hearing Fees from the proposed $400 to $300; and lowering the Subdivision/Platting Fee from the proposed $400 back to $200. 

Gaylen Jensen left the meeting at 10:50 a.m.

 It was moved by William J. Sauer, seconded by Kevin Anderson and passed to reserve $2,000 of County Revenue Fund reserves for a Sheriff’s Contingency.   It was moved by Steve Johnson, seconded by Kevin Anderson and passed to approve a $1,000 payment to the City of Slayton as an appropriation for D.A.R.E. 

Gaylen Jensen returned to the meeting at 11:30 a.m.

 

Ron Ringquist, Sioux Engineering, visited with the Board via speakerphone.  He discussed with the Board a proposed change order from Kelly & Gerald Whitcomb for the Improvement of County Ditch 22 Laterals.  Ron spoke with affected landowners and reported that they are all in agreement to deepen County Ditch No. 22 an additional one foot south of the township road north of Section 24, Shetek Township. Ron will have the proposed change order prepared and signed by the engineer and contractor and forwarded to Murray County for approval at a future meeting.

 

The Board set the next date for budget discussions for Tuesday, September 11 in the afternoon during it’s regular meeting.
