Shetek Area Water and Sewer Commission Minutes from October 24, 2000 Meeting

 Commission Members Present: Marcia Schreier, John McClure, Jack VonBokern, Delores Sell, Ralph Knapp, Harold Graphenteen, Mark Hagen, and Cornelius Smit.

  Commission Members Absent: Leroy Biren.

 Others Present: none.

   Support Staff Present: Murray County Water Resources Assistant Chris Hansen.

  Agenda Items: 

  ® motion (00-10-24a): Marcia made a motion for the Shetek Area Water and Sewer Commission to hereby accept the Facility Plan Amendment for Wastewater Treatment and Sanitary Sewer Collection, project Number 98-472-S dated September 2000 completed by RLK Kuusisto LTD, in conjunction with the Facility Plan for Wastewater Treatment and Sanitary Sewer Collection, project Number 98472 dated January 1999, together as the Comprehensive Plan for the Shetek Area Water and Sewer District. (attached hereto) The meeting continued with a discussion about the about the public meeting held on October 16, 2000.  The consensus agreed that the meeting went very well, however the attendance was less than expected.  Several reasons were discussed that may have influenced the public interest.  There was some severe weather in the area that night and the notice was only published in the newspapers- postcards were not sent.

     ® motion (00-10-24b):  Delores made a motion to accept the minutes for the October 16, 2000 public meeting.  John seconded the motion.  The Commission approved the motion.

   ® motion (00-10-24c): Cornelius made a motion to pay the current outstanding invoice for the SAWSC.  This included the RLK Kuusisto invoice for $871.75 for Horizons Letter, IUP requirements, and information to DGR (98472S #19).  Ralph seconded the motion.  The Commission approved the motion.

   ® motion (00-10-24d): Marcia made a motion to approve the projected budget for the SAWSC for 2001 requiring about a $27,000.00 request from Murray County.  Final amounts will be verified at the end of the year.  Ralph seconded the motion.  The Commission approved the motion. All members present agreed that the next SAWSC meeting would be held Tuesday November 22^nd, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room A of the Murray County Government Building Slayton, MN. 

The December SAWSC meeting would be held Tuesday December 26^th 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room A of the Murray County Government Building Slayton, MN.
