The following services and permits are available from the Murray County Sheriff's Department. Information about each item is provided below. If you have further questions regarding any listed services or permits, please contact the Law Enforcement Center at 507-836-6168.
NOTE: permits must be obtained during regular business hours between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Burn Permits
Burn Permits are issued to rural county residents free of charge. To obtain a permit, please come to the Law Enforcement Center at the Government Center, Slayton, MN. It is very important to call in BEFORE and AFTER you burn!
Gun Locks Free Gun Locks are available at the Law Enforcement Center until supplies run out.
Permits to Purchase Firearms Applications for Permits to Purchase a Firearm are available at the Law Enforcement Center.
Permits to Carry Applications for Permits to Carry a Concealed Weapon are available at the Law Enforcement Center. Proof of attending a certification training is needed, along with a photo ID. The cost of a Carry Permit is $100.00 payable at time of application.
