In addition to having a hard-working, well-educated local workforce, Murray County is conveniently located, with US Highway 59 and State Highway 30, main transportation arteries in Southwestern Minnesota, passing through the county.

Murray County has over 475 businesses spread throughout the county and within its nine towns:  Avoca, Chandler, Currie, Dovray, Fulda, Hadley, IonaLake Wilson and SlaytonChandler and Slayton have JOBZ subzones.  Qualified businesses which start, expand or re-locate into these subzones may be exempt from property tax on new development, sales tax on goods & services and corporate income tax. "Qualified businesses" are primarily industrial, value-added, or high paying service businesses. 

Murray County and its local communities are a great place to raise a family as well.  We have superb healthcare facilities and a variety of other amenities, including excellent schools (In 2007, Murray County Central Elementary was one of 8 elementary schools in the state to be designated as a School of Excellence).
