Minnesota Main Street COVID Relief Grants

The application period for Minnesota Main Street COVID Relief Grants is September 20th through the 29th.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) will oversee the Main Street Covid Relief Grants Program approved by the Minnesota State Legislature and signed by Gov. Tim Walz on June 30, 2021.

This program will make available $10,000 - $25,000 grants to Minnesotan-owned and operated businesses that can demonstrate financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Just over $64 million is available for the program, with 50 percent of the funds going to Greater Minnesota. Businesses owned by women, veterans and people of color will be given special consideration.

Businesses that received money through Murray County due to the CARES Act funding are eligible for this grant, as long as other criteria is met. The business or non-profit must be located in Minnesota, be at least 50 percent owned by a Minnesota resident, employ less than 200 full-time workers, be able to demonstrate financial hardship as a result of the COVID outbreak and have minimum total sales or revenue of at least $10,000 for the 2020 or 2019 tax year.
